Our Caravan & Camping Lifestyle Blog.
"Doing Great Things with Great People."
Hello - Welcome to ANZAC NOMADS. Glad you could make it.
Our Bucket List: We are visiting the outback, Staying in local towns, Enjoying free camping spots, Embracing farm stays, Thriving at HipCamps, Finding great camping or caravan spots And going to other places on our bucket list, such as -
Crossing the Nullabor.
Doing the Oodnadatta Track.
Visiting Arnhem Land.
Taking on the Gibb River Road and
Going to the Rugby World Cup 2027.
And much more ...
We have our respective families who live on Kangaroo Island and in New South Wales & Queensland. We must see them.
Our names are Chris and Rowena.
We are a "retired Christian couple living the grey nomad lifestyle." We have a list of activities, places and sights on our bucket list that we are going to visit which includes shakedown trips to other States across Australia.
Our trips are either partially planned or spontaneous. We are just going to go "somewhere" and trust the Lord to show us what to do when we get there. We tow "Lightning" our OPUS OP4 TLX Camper Trailer with "Marley" our 2011 Ford Ranger Wildtrak that has been modified and upgraded for our shakedown trips around Western Australia then we will graduate to other States across Australia.
We invite those of you with your own setup to join us when or if you can.

Just to be clear. Yes, we know. Christians do not retire. In fact we have a page dedicated about retirement.
A bit about us ...
We are Chris and Rowena Tutauha.
Rowena was born in Australia, so she says "Gidday."
I was born in New Zealand, so I say "Kia Ora."
We were married in 1989. 35 years as of 2024. Over the years we evolved into an ANZAC couple, bringing together the pioneering and warrior spirit.
Since we "retired" we became Grey Nomads - forming ANZAC NOMADS
We have 2 x adult daughters, 10 x grandchildren and 1 x great granddaughter.
We do not live full time on the road, nor do we plan to. We have a home in Balga that is our headquarters and home base.

We have affectionately named our Ford Ranger Wildtrak "Marley" in honour of our family Maltese Shih Tzu. We imagined trips with Marley being with us, the fun we could have and he always made sure I walked him, twice a day - for an hour or more each time. He was like a clock on time every day ... "Come on let's go, we have walking to do!!! Rain or heat - We had to do it!!!"
We also had Molly our American Staffy.

We decided in honour of our beloved cat Lightning whom we also lost recently to name our OPUS OP4 TLX 2025 Camper Trailer Lightning. It was a very sad day losing him too. His mother Precious had 8 kittens and he was as fast a grease Lightning. He had his routines and kept us on our toes and definitely kept an eye on Marley.
We had other cats Angel, Banjo, Eddy and Boris who brought us so much joy.
