ANNOUNCEMENT: Our dog Marley was euthanased on Sunday 13th October. It was a very sad day for our family because suddenly after a visit to the Vet Marley is no longer with us. A cry from many in our community have asked that we setup a ministry for those who have lost pets and animals.

In Honour of Our Beloved - Maltese Shih Tzu - MARLEY

We were blessed when our daughter asked us if we would give Marley a home.

We didn't even flinch we just thought he is family and happy to have him. And what a blessing he turned out to be for us especially when he would want to go for his walks, twice a day more than an hours each time.

Since we lost our beloved Marley on 13th October 2024 we felt that as part of the Caravan and Camping Chaplaincy program we will not only honour Marley but help those who travel with dogs or are grieving the loss of their beloved pet.

As much as we miss Marley we can say he taught us so much because he insisted that we would take him for a walk an hour or more twice a day.

He didn't care whether it rained or not and refused to wear his protective jacket leaving us to always have our umbrella for ourselves.

It has also come to our attention that a couple of our friends lost their beloved dogs too and one felt the loss of her beloved chicken.

We knew Pet Bereavement is a thing and going through it again was difficult but this time it was different.

In 6 weeks we not only lost our dog but we lost dearly loved ones too.

  1. My mother-in-law.

  2. Our spiritual father.

  3. We lost Marley.

  4. The husband of our accountant.

  5. A dear friend whom we worked with and known for 30 years.

  6. And a dear friend from our church.

Grief is very real, very painful and we all deal with it in different ways.

Some of us are aware of the 5 stages of grief after the initial shock:

  • Denial

  • Anger

  • Bargaining

  • Depression

  • Acceptance

Others seek the Lord's way of dealing with grief ....

We have 2 videos to help people to grieve from God's perspective.

So much insight in an 8 minute video by Bill Johnson.

This 4 minute video is very comforting.
